Final days of visits to Cap Hatien are always a mixed bag; want to stay and continue with work, ready to go home for a while. After the excitement of yesterday's seminar with all the interaction I was inspired to continue, but knew it was time to focus on reporting. Spent much of the morning working on documentation while sitting in the garden out behind Makouti's office. I was productive and enjoying a relaxing morning. See group photo. Was treated to a home cooked lunch while there, prepared by Makouti's marketing person. What a cook! The afternoon allowed us time to visit the Tourist Market near Hotel Christophe, am truly amazed at all the art and talented artist.

Supporting Anti-Child Labor Projects in Ecuador and Panama

EducaFuturo is a program currently being implemented by Partners of the Americas in Ecuador and Panama. Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), EducaFuturo seeks to combat child labor in both countries through educational programs, vocational training, and livelihood services. F2F has partnered with EducaFuturo on numerous occasions over the past 5 years, sending 7 volunteers to support their efforts in improving the educational outcomes of youth involved in child labor, while also increasing the income opportunities of households to reduce reliance on child labor. Volunteers have provided training on a range of topics, including sustainable production practices, processing, business management, and marketing.
